The Flowing Bowl by William Schmidt

(1892) This substantial book only focuses in part on recipes; Schmidt also instructs the reader on wine and food pairings and other epicurean matters. There are a fair few recipes that appear here that don’t appear elsewhere. He referred to himself as “The Only William” and seems to have had a signature style to match.
