HISTORY
Introduced after WWI, the now-iconic aperitivo liqueur became popular after WWII, in part resulting from increased advertising and its association with the Spritz. In the 1970s, an ad campaign centering on the slogan “Ah, Aperol!” cemented the brand as a household name in Italy. Gruppo Campari acquired the brand in 2003 and continues production with its original formula.
