Punch by David Wondrich
(2010) A great survey of the history of punch, which is one of two major ancestors of the cocktail. Wondrich includes recipes for historic punches and tips on technique. The book is organized in a few different ways, by base spirit for some chapters, and by time and place for others. All in all a great resource for making punches at home.
