Rich vanilla syrup

This is our house recipe for 2:1 vanilla syrup at Gigantic and we used it in our November 2024 Club recipes.

INGREDIENTS

1 vanilla bean
½ teaspoon vanilla extract 
400g (about 2 cups) sugar 
200g (about 7 ounces) hot water


Cut the vanilla bean in half lengthwise. Scrape them out with a spoon or knife and put them in a saucepan with the bean. Add the sugar and water and place on medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves. Do not let it boil. Add the vanilla extract and let cool before storing in the fridge.
