Spiced Angostura Bitters
This Spiced Angostura bitters recipe comes from St John Frizell and his great bar team at Brooklyn’s Gage & Tollner. We used them in June 2021 for 1930s and ‘40s Tiki Month.
INGREDIENTS
3 oz. Angostura bitters
1 cinnamon stick
1 whole nutmeg
2 coffee beans
Grind the whole spices in a coffee grinder* and let them steep in the Angostura bitters indefinitely. When making a new batch, grind new spice.
* if you don't have a coffee grinder for spices, put them in a ziploc and (carefully) crush with a mallet, cast-iron skillet, or similar.
