Verdant Vernal Punch

This recipe is an offshoot of a cobbler I developed in 2022. I love this punch version that I adapted for a vernal equinox dance party at my dear friend Michael’s painting studio. It’s fresh and bright with herbal, vegetal, and tannic notes and plenty of botanicals, too, from the blanc vermouth and gin. And the color can’t be beat!

INGREDIENTS

10½ oz. blanc vermouth
5¼ oz. dry gin*
3½ oz. cucumber juice
3½ oz. lime juice
3½ oz. salted parsley syrup
5¼ oz. green tea

Garnish: cucumber spears, lime wheels, parsley sprigs

*you can replace half the gin with mezcal for a smoky note!

ABV LEVEL

Makes about seven 4½–oz. servings.

Combine all in a nonreactive container and stir. Cover and chill, allowing the punch to meld for 2-4 hours if possible. Serve over ice in individual punch glass or small rocks glasses and garnish with abandon!
