Lockport Sling

This one’s basically a sparkling sling with a little pop of acidity from the cordial. The combination of cherries and baking spices reminds me of eating cherry cobbler (or pie!) outside toward the end of a long summer’s evening.

INGREDIENTS

1½ oz. rye
¾ oz. ruby port
½ oz. spiced cherry cordial
Club soda, to top
Cordial cherries, for garnish
Nutmeg, for garnish


ABV LEVEL

Combine rye, port, and cordial in a Collins glass and stir. Alternate adding ice cubes and the reserved cordial cherries (about 3-4 of each) until glass is full. Add a straw and top with approximately 3 oz. club soda. Grate fresh nutmeg on top.
