Sbagliato D’inverno

This aperitivo cocktail is a hybrid of a Negroni Sbagliato (bitter liqueur, sweet vermouth, prosecco) and a spritz (bitter liqueur, prosecco, soda). Fortified with a small measure of aged gin and winterized with a dose of citrus, it’ll have you embracing January’s chill with flavors of pine, citrus, and apple.

INGREDIENTS

1 oz. Braulio or Cynar
1 oz. blanc vermouth
½ oz.
citrus cordial
¼ oz. aged gin
3 oz. dry cider
Rosemary sprig, for garnish
Orange wheel, for garnish
Cocktail cherry or olive, for garnish

ABV LEVEL

Into a wine glass, combine the amaro, vermouth, cordial and aged gin. Set aside. Prepare your garnish: take an orange wheel and lay rosemary sprig down the center. Place a cocktail cherry in the middle of the sprig, fold the orange wheel up the sides of the cherry or olive, and skewer with a cocktail pick. Add cracked (not crushed) ice or small cubes to the mixture in the wine glass. Top with dry cider and add garnish.
