Americano Alpino

The Americano began as a fizzy version of the elemental Milano-Torino, which mixes Campari (from Milan) with sweet vermouth (from Torino, or Turin). It got its name from the American tourists and expats who took to it with enthusiasm, especially during Prohibition.

INGREDIENTS

2 oz. sweet Italian vermouth
1
½ oz. rosemary-infused Campari
Soda, to top
Lemon and olive, for garnish

ABV LEVEL

Build in a Collins glass. Add a few ice cubes so they reach almost the top of glass. Top with about 3 oz. soda. Garnish with a lemon-and-olive "flag." Serve with a straw.
